Introduction by Keith Azopardi, Party Leader
I am delighted to welcome you to our re-launched website. We have tried to make it as user-friendly as possible for members and guests alike.
We in the Progressive Democratic Party are a fusion of people from all walks of life with a common set of beliefs and aspiration encompassed in a common goal: to make Gibraltar a better place for all of us.
Please have a look at our Manifesto which contains our pledges to you, the electorate. Our Manisfesto contains not just our ideas but more importantly, those of interested groups and members of the public with whom we have consulted and to whom we owe our thanks for their time in so doing.
Please also take a look at our ´In the News´ section where you will find our Press Releases - which we will post from time to time - and general news about the Party.
We bring a fresh, modern and progressive vision to Gibraltar politics. We hope you will find our policies of interest and would be happy to answer any specific queries on these. If you have any questions or general enquiries please send us an email to info@pdp.gi or write to us at PDP, PO BOX 1373, Gibraltar.

In Gibraltar the comparative silence from Government is both surprising and indicative that it may have no idea of how to deal with
this crisis."

GOVERNMENT'S HOUSING POLICY FAILS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF ORDINARY WORKING PEOPLE
23.06.2008
When will the Government finally accept that it has failed to meet the housing needs of ordinary working people? Every day our newspapers are filled with advertisements for the sale of properties in the market which are out of reach of the ordinary working citizen. Even the Waterport Terraces development has failed to meet the needs of those most in need of affordable housing in Gibraltar. How does the Government expect to encourage people to move out of Government rental accommodation in order to elevate pressure on the housing list when the starting position with affordable housing is invariable in the £100,000+ bracket?

LIFEGUARD FACILITIES AND BEACHES
12.06.2008
The PDP are concerned that the lifeguard situation on our beaches is inadequate. This point has been highlighted by the late delivery of the launches used by these teams. There are a number of factors that require attention, particularly the location of the lifeguard posts.
